Modern equipment makes ski touring much easier, many brands now make boots, bindings and skis that enable you to do it all. Its not necessary to buy skis and boots just for ski touring, many alpine set-ups can now do the job just as well.

Ski Touring Equipment:
A range of touring equipment is available from downhill crossover boots, skis and bindings to full on super light weight ski touring specific kit. If you’re new to touring then hiring skis with skins and using your own boots is a good and cost effective option. Hiring boots is not recommended as it increases the potential for sore and uncomfortable feet. You will need skis with touring bindings, skins and touring crampons all of which you can hire locally in Chamonix. If you’d like to buy we would recommend a pin or tech style binding like ‘Dynafit’ or the new ‘Marker Kingpin’ they are simply the best option and a ski like the fab ‘K2 Coomback’
