Welcome to Tinderbox Ski School. A Chamonix ski school that delivers a fun and safe range of private ski lessons, skiing courses and guiding to suit all levels. 

We know learning is best done in a fun and relaxed environment, helping you to get the most from your skiing. Our approach is about tailoring our lessons and coaching around your specific style and technical needs. Effective sessions and lots of skiing allow you to make breakthroughs in your ability and confidence.

Born from the experience and enthusiasm of British professional freeskier Chris Fecher. A successful career as a sponsored freeride competitor and big mountain skier has lead Chris to become the first UK Pro to gain the full International Ski Teaching Diploma (Level 4 ISTD) and hold the coveted French Equivalence. A Chamonix winter resident for 18 years Chris has founded Tinderbox Ski School to share his passion for skiing, offering ski coaching, private ski lessons, off-piste and backcountry skiing adventures.

Tinderbox private lessons  and guiding are ideal for that real one to one tailor made service, bringing about those technique breakthroughs. Private Lessons are a well known way to put your skiing on the right track, with lots of attention and the right feedback you'll discover how to move your skiing to the next level. Private lessons and private guiding are available throughout the winter, from beginner to back country skier.

Group lessons are a really cost effective alternative to private lessons, join in the fun with friends or make some new ones. Group size is kept down to a maximum of 6 people in a effort to maintain lesson quality and maximum enjoyment.

Our courses are offered in a progression from piste skiing to backcountry skiing and range to suit all skiing abilities. Most ski courses are held on a 5-day basis unless stated otherwise as this offers more flexibility for your travel arrangements and an additional day to warm up or free ski, a good option if you are staying longer. To complement our off-piste and ski touring packages we've introduced a new range of two day avalanche awareness course's. Delivered by avalanche professionals and including a manual and a certificate of achievement.

Tinderbox instructors and mountainn guides are all native English speaking independent ski teachers and guides, fully qualified to the highest level. Each are hand picked by the ski school for their effective skiing, guiding and teaching skills and also a real mountain sense which only comes from years of personal experience. The team have travelled, taught and guided all over the world and have a real afinity for an active outdoor lifestyle.
